With the heat of the summer, winds and low humidity in Colorado - fire bans have been put into place in many counties across our great State.   We currently have four very active fires burning in Colorado, some of which started due to negligent campers having campfires, and not being put out completely.    We have even seen an arrest of two traveling from out of state.

Here are the counties with current fire bans in place.   Know that this is the list AS OF TODAY and with our very hot weather and no rain, this could change tomorrow.   Check with Colorado Emergency Management.

It is a privilege to enjoy our mountains to hike and bike and enjoy the serenity it gives, but take responsibility, and make sure all fires are out before leaving a camp site.   There are families living in the mountains with homes and animals that must be evacuated when there is a fire.    These forest fires also contribute to increasing costs of homeowner's insurance for those having a desire to enjoy living in the mountains!
