Aurora CO Sign Laws
If you want to advertise for a lost dog, working-from-home job opportunities, etc. Aurora residents need to know the rules. Handmade, temporary signs placed in medians, parks, open spaces, traffic light poles and other rights of way are not allowed. These signs detract from the city's beauty and become unwanted trash, and can be a safety hazard.
The weekend garage sale signs may not be posted until 6 pm Thursday night prior to the sale, and must be removed by 7 am Monday following the sale. Residents are allowed 4 garage sales per year, four signs not to exceed 72 hours per sale. Up to four signs measuring no more than 2 feet by 3 feet may be displayed per sale. Signs only may be placed along sidewalks in a way that doesn't hinder pedestrian or vehicular traffic, or on the perimeter of nearby residential yards with the homeowner's permission.
